My lovely cat sadly passed away over the weekend. It's quite a sad moment as Misty has been a part of my life for over 18 years, well over half my life! I remember her when she was just a little kitten who used to curl up inside my baseball cap and fall sleep. Towards the end she struggled with cancer caused by the harsh Aussie sunshine, eventually passing away in her sleep. She will be dearly missed. Goodbye my little lolcat...

Let It Snow
We've been "snowed in" for the past few days... Well we got around 10 inches of snow last Tuesday night and that's been enough to keep the schools closed all week!
I'm not sure why, but less than a foot of snow seems to bring the whole country to a standstill and causes absolute chaos - not that I'm complaining! Time off work to mess around in the snow, enjoy the outdoors and concentrate on the things that make me smile is always welcome! I've been busy making the most of it as you never know when the next snowfall will be. It makes the rest of the dark, cold and icy winter seem worthwhile. So I say let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! :)

Couple of favorites: Travel
I've been looking through some old posts on my 365 attempt and weeded out a couple of my favorite photos from that journey. For this post I've chosen photos of events and places I visited during the past year or so. Looking back on it I've been quite lucky and actually managed to squeeze in quite a lot of travel.

Crosses at the grave of a teenage Soldier, Belgium.
Girl admiring waterside castle, Portugal.
Gravestone wall, unknown Cathedral somewhere in the UK.
Chinese water garden by night, Cliveden UK.

Couple of favorites: Cloning
The old 365 project was all about capturing some inventive self portraits to portray how I was feeling or what was going on at that point in time. I had a lot of fun creating some interesting images and I learnt a lot about image manipulation in the process! If you haven't tried this, you need to! Here's a few of my favorite "clone" attempts:

Ghostly Emotion (my very first attempt at blending 2 images of myself).
Get back to work!
Keeping busy. My one and only attempt at 4 clones!

Behind you! It's a bit comical, but that was the idea. :)

Drawing 2009 to a close
So the end of another year is upon us... As you may or may not have noticed, I've chopped away at all the old posts and decided to start this place pretty much fresh for the new year! I know I didn't get as far as I'd hoped with my 365 but that's okay, I did get into the 200's which was quite a good experience. In the next few days I am going to re-post some of my favorite photographs from that journey.
I achieved quite a few things I set out to do in 2009 so it's been a pretty good year for me, although there have been ups as well as downs. In "oh nine" I managed to:
- Do quite a bit of travel
- Visit friends & family in Australia after 4 years away
- Get married!!!
- Taught myself how to juggle
- Stick with a vegetarian diet for 12 months
- Add 25 pounds to my bodyweight (in a good way)
I'm sure there's loads more things I could add to that list but that's straight off the top of my head right now. So that leads me to the question: How was 2009 for you?

Aussie Wedding Bells
We finally got our wedding photos in the mail last week! Included in our package was a DVD slideshow of some of the photos. I've uploaded it to YouTube as it's an easy was of showcasing a good selection of the photos from our day. Props to our photographer who did an amazing job! So if you've got a spare 8 or so minutes:
You may need to press play then pause it for a while as it takes some time to load.
