155/365 Fix-It

Sorry about the delay in posting - I've had a few technical issues to take care of. A can of trusty old WD-40 should do the trick though, hehe! Funky depth of field! :)

154/365 Sweet dreams?

Magic! Haha! Is it floating? Levitating? And no I didn't capture the photo mid drop! ;-)

Stumbled across some Rice Dream in the local health food shop today. Never seen it before. It tastes quite nice, better and more "milk like" than the soy did anyway and with far less of the ingredients that were pointed out to me in yesterday's comments (thanks for your input). I love trying new things!

153/365 ...not so good?

Thought I'd give soy milk another go as I hadn't tasted it in years, last time I remember it tasting akin to chalk. To my suprise it's actually pretty good, as long as you're not expecting it to taste like cow milk. Oh and look, it's made from non genetically modified soya! :)

152/365 Cheap fisheye

This was a little project I had a while back, I thought I'd try it out on the new camcorder. Ever wanted a super cheap alternative to a fisheye lens? Then get yourself a door peephole, whack together a quick mount and you've got one! Check it! :)

Oh and VIMEO is the new youtube! Hehe!

149/365 Got ID?

It's amazing how much you need to rely on two basic forms of ID in this modern world and how much info about you is stored in various places. Passport and drivers license. If you lost both of these how would you prove who you are? Or who could become you? Unless of course you've been DNA profiled or finger printed at some stage! ;-) Of course that doesn't really help if you're being carded at the local bottle shop! Haha!

148/365 Weights

Time to get back in shape... I used to enjoy doing weight training with Dad back in the day, so I thought it time I got back into the habit again! Need to get my strength back!

147/365 Amarula

The spirit of Africa. I got this for my birthday also from my Zimbabwean friend. It's a South African fruity cream liquer made from the fruit of the Malura tree. Very tasty!

And in other unrelated African news, Zimbabwe has just released a 100 TRILLION DOLLAR note! I guess that's crazy governments and hyper inftation for you...

146/365 White Rabbit

I love these sweets! :o Every time I go to China Town in London I always pick up a packet with the rest of my Oriental supplies!

Sorry the article is a little blurry... "A China-made confectionary linked to a chemical thathas poisoned 53,000 children in Chine, killing four, is being sold in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. The Singapore Government recalled the White Rabbit Creamy Candy on Sunday after finding it contained melamine."

145/365 High definition

Check this tasty piece of tech out! April got me this for my birthday (yeh no updates for a bit, busy doing other things). It's a 720p high definition pocket video camcorder that records straight to SD cards! Woot! It also takes 5mp photos but the quality isn't great on that side.

144/365 Shallowcat

She's a strange kitty... Shot this one using the 50mm prime on f/2.8 with the fisheye attached. Gave a weird effect and a super shallow depth of field.

PS: It's my birthday on Monday!!!!! :)

143/365 Stir Crazy

Stuck indoors by myself this evening (raining). Four things I've done so far to keep myself from going stir crazy:

- Talked on the phone
- Checked my email and this blog
- Straighened my hair
- Toyed around with the bmx

142/365 Freaky Styley

Got the house to myself this week, which means I can bring the bike upstairs to do my repairs and such. It also means I can bust a few quick flatland tricks in the lounge room without being told off, hahaha! :) Which is great as it's bloody minus 3 degrees outside!

Focal length: 28mm + fisheye 0.25x converter
Shutter: 1/80 sec; Aperture: f/8; ISO 100
Flash located beneath camera (fired remotely)

141/365 Snow!!!

First snow of 2009! Hardly much to shout about though, probably less than an inch of total snowfall in our area, but still snow! And yes this post is a little bit late but my camera battery died before I could upload this in time...

140/365 One man's trash...

...is another man's treasure! This caught my eye as I was walking past a charity shop a little while back. I thought the flash would make a good addition to my light painting gear so I went in to see how much it was. Turns out it was only £10 for the lot so I couldn't resist! Even got a camera bag to store it all in. I'll probably never use the camera (film) but the flash is perfect for firing off my light stencils!

139/365 Vegan fish?

Check this little goldfish out! He's carved from a single carrot and was the decoration to one of the dishes served on the Chinese food during our new years celebrations! A bit of a waste of a tasty carrot really (not supposed to eat them as they reuse them) but a work of art none the less, it's so detailed! Carved by the head chef.

138/365 First!

I know it's not the best photo, but I wanted to post this one up as it's the first photo I took in 2009! The EXIF data tells me it was snapped at 1:39am (stumbled in home from our celebrations about then I guess). I left the camera set up on the tripod ready before I went out, haha!

137/365 Hangover cure?

Happy 2009 blog followers!!!! :) Hope you all had a great night celebrating the end on one year and the arrival of the next one. I had an amazing celebration.

So it's new years day and what better way to fight off a hangover than a bit of excercise. I was planning a new years day bmx flatland sesh and managed to get out there in the fresh air and get a couple of hours riding done. Took the Fuji S5500 and the fisheye lens out with me to snap off today's shot. Bring on the new year!
