214 Newsworthy

As the entire world seems to be mourning Michael's death - news of the 35+ soldiers killed serving their country in the line of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan THIS MONTH ALONE hardly rates a front page in the news or raises concerns around office water coolers. Not to mention the hundreds more civillians killed by suicide bombings. What a pretentious and superficial world we live in... Ask yourself what really should be of more importance?

But of course it must be this way! This is how the media keeps us distracted from the real issues and focused on the trivial "pop" news.

This way, we never question too deeply the things that really matter. We just remain in our (safe) isolated cocoon, with rose color glasses on... The powers that be - depend on our apathy. Nothing must keep us from the mundane... lest we stop buying widgets or worse, get vocal about the problems...

Anyway, that's my 2cents about the "system of denial" works. But I agree, it's all very wrong that it is this way. :(
