189/365 Diamond

Messing around with the screw-on macro converter. I haven't really used it much so it was a bit trial and error. It really kills depth of field. After all the dark and disturbed photos I thought I'd brighten things up on here. This is April's engagement ring. :)

Shutter: 1/25 sec; Aperture: f/22; ISO: 100
Focal length: 55mm +12.5 macro filter
Flash from side (diffused through a tissue)

This IS the most dark & disturbing photo you've ever produced.

I know what you mean klem... i have set of those screw on macro filters... depth of field is really bad. one slight move when you press the shutter and the subject is out of focus lol.

The extension tube however, is much better, although the depth of field is hard to control, there is no loss of light so exposure and shutter speeds are relatively ok, better to use in apeture mode for obvious reasons lol

Yeh I shoot in aperture mode most of the time anyway because I am a control nazi... I was shotting some stuff at f/18+ and still getting waaaay shallow depth of field.

And Low Rider yeh it IS disturbing, imagine all the camera gear I could have purchased instead?!?!?! HAHAHA! :o

So... the big day is ??? when ?
Or is it a wait and see kind of thing - which is perfectly fine too... Really tempting fate, I was married on a "Fri 13th" - 20 years ago in Oct... Ya gotta appreciate our sense of humor :)
